Makeup weeks

We know that summertime is prime time for vacations. If you need to place your box on hold for a week, please let us know so we can harvest accordingly. Skipped weeks will be added to the end of the 16-week period. We can only offer the option of skipping two weeks during the season, meaning we will only be able to make up skipped weeks on weeks 17 and 18. If you have summer plans that will require you to skip more than two weeks, please find alternative recipients for your CSA or ask us to donate your box for the week.

Pickup: Thursdays from 4-6pm at the CVMC

CSA Email and Box Customization:

Every week, you’ll receive an email from us detailing the upcoming box, provide you with recipes and farm updates, and offer a link to a Google Form for customizing your box. Customizing will be easy. There will be the “Standard Box” list. If we don’t hear from you by the customization deadline, this is what you’ll receive in the upcoming box. You’ll be able to choose 2-3 of the available 4-5 seasonal crops each week depending on CSA size.

CSA Add-ons:

We’re excited to announce that we are partnering with several local producers this year to provide you all your food needs! You will be able to add items each week to your box through the online form for an additional cost.*

What is a CSA?

Every year, we offer a seasonal CSA. Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a food production and distribution model that connects consumers directly with local farmers. The concept is simple- consumers buy a share of the season’s harvest from a local farmer, and in return, they receive a regular supply of fresh, in-season, locally grown produce throughout the growing season. A CSA promotes sustainable agriculture practices by supporting small-scale farmers and reducing food miles. It also creates a sense of community by connecting consumers with the people who grow their food and by giving them a deeper understanding of the challenges and rewards of farming.

Here are a few reasons why you should consider joining the CSA:

  1. You’ll get fresh, in-season produce grown by us. By joining the CSA, you’ll be getting the very best of what we have to offer, often harvested the same day or the day before you pick it up. This means you’ll be getting the most flavorful and nutrient-dense produce possible.
  2. You’ll support your local farmer. Small-scale farmers are the backbone of our food system, and by joining a CSA, you’ll be supporting these farmers directly, helping to ensure the survival of small farms and rural communities.
  3. You’ll reduce your carbon footprint. By buying locally grown produce, you’ll be reducing the amount of energy and resources needed to transport and store food. This means fewer greenhouse gas emissions and a smaller environmental footprint.
  4. You’ll get to know your food. CSA members often have the opportunity to visit the farm, meet the farmers, and see how their food is grown. This allows for the opportunity to build a deeper connection to the food we eat and the people who produce it.
  5. You’ll eat healthier.
